OPTIONAL EXCURSIONS

If you want to meet Serbia, breathtakingly beautiful country on the mountainous Balkans, and hospitable Belgrade, its capital city, always open-hearted to all of its visitors, both rich in history and outstanding cultural heritage from the Roman, Byzantine, Medieval and modern times, we recommend you several excursions.
 
One-day excursion ”Vojvodina Tour”  is planned to be on October 9th and 11th while on 7th, 8th, 10th  of October half-day tours will give you an inside look at the City of Belgrade. Three half-day tours through Belgrade will be rotating providing you an opportunity to choose them depending on your availability.

Excursions will be realized if a minimum number of people is registered. Payment will be required once the excursion is guaranteed.

Sightseeing tours are optional. Payment for the tours will be on the spot, at the Tourist Information Desk in both LCWS14 conference venues.

Panoramic City Tour of Belgrade (October 7th, 8th, 10th)

Panoramic sightseeing by bus in combination with an enjoyable visit on foot. Walking through the city is the best way to feel its rhythm. This tour includes visit to magnificent Kalemegdan Fortress with large park area, as well as visit of one chosen Belgrade’s museum. You will get to know town core and heart of Belgrade.

Royal Palace (October 7th, 8th, 10th)

The palace complex of the Karadjordjevic Dynasty in Dedinje includes the Royal Palace and the White Palace. In addition to these two magnificent mansions and the park, the visitors, accompanied by a specialized tour guide, will also visit the chapel dedicated to St Andrew the Apostle, who is the patron saint of the Royal Family. The Royal Complex is located on the highest point of Dedinje Hill with an area over 135 hectares (333 acres). Today the Royal Palace is the residence of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander and his family.

Back to the past - “A Coffee with Princess Ljubica”  (October 7th, 8th, 10th)

A Coffee with Princess Ljubica“ is a special program meant to represent the Residence of Princess Ljubica and life in Belgrade during the rule of the Оbrenovic Dynasty. During the visit, you will be offered coffee and homemade lokum (Turkish delight). For this occasion, the guests will be hosted in the central room of the Residence, the Divan-hana.

“Folklore Show” (October 10th)

”Vojvodina Tour” (October 9th  and 11th)

One-day guided bus tour in Vojvodina, province in Serbia. Due to its vast fertile land, Vojvodina has for a long time been called the "granary of Europe", and because of its multinational population, the "little Europe". Its administrative center, town of Novi Sad, is the center of cultural activity in the region, and was poetically referred to as the "Serbian Athens". On the way visit to Fruska Gora National Park which spreads along 80 km of range between the Danube and Sava river and two Serbian Orthodox monasteries Grgeteg and Krusedol. Proceed to Sremski Karlovci visit to Zivanovic Winery, sightseeing of Novi Sad and Petrovaradin Fortress – one of the most famous fortresses in Europe which is situated on the right bank of Danube river. Lunch at fantastic salash-farm 137 in Cenej village - suburb of Novi Sad that has been turned into the one of the best and most authentic tourist attractions of Vojvodina.

We would like to announce that several grants will be offered to PhD students to participate the conference.
The abstract submission deadline for the Calorimetry/Muons track has been moved to 17th September.
We ask for proposals for theory, phenomenology and experimental contributions to the Top/QCD/Loopverein sessions (title & short abstract).
If you wish to make a contribution to the Simulation/Detector Performance/Reconstruction session, please send email with the proposed title and a short abstract...
If you wish to propose a contribution for the Machine Detector Interface/Integration/Polarisation sessions, please send us the title and a short abstract.
As conveners of the Beyond the Standard Model Physics Working Group we solicit proposals for theory, phenomenology or experimental contributions to our parallel sessions (title, short abstract and references, if available).
We invite you to submit a talk to the Higgs/EW parallel session. Titles with short abstracts should be submitted to all Higgs/EW conveners...
The deadline for abstract submission is Monday, 8 September 2014. If you would like to propose a contribution, please send the title and a short abstract to the conveners.
